West Ham are interested in signing Sassuolo defender Mert Muldur according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old can play in either the right-back or left-back positions.
Hammers boss David Moyes is thought to be keen to bolster his central defensive ranks.
West Ham certainly don’t need to sign a right-back. We could do with another left-back but that’s not a pressing issue for Moyes.
So links with the Turkey international seem strange to say the least.

West Ham want Mert Muldur – make it make sense
The Daily Mail claims that the Hammers are weighing up a move for the 22-year-old Sassuolo defender.
We can’t see why Moyes would want to bring him to the London Stadium, however.
West Ham currently have Vladimir Coufal, Ryan Fredericks and Ben Johnson as right-back options.
Craig Dawson can even play there in an emergency.
Muldur quite simply isn’t a player who the Hammers should be chasing this summer.

He hardly covered himself in glory during Turkey’s disastrous EURO 2020 campaign.
If truth be told, he looked like a fish out of water.
The Premier League would be a massive step up in intensity for Muldur. All the signs are that at this stage of his development, he would struggle in England.
The report claiming West Ham want to sign the Turk seems very strange. There is just no sense in it and no logical reason why David Moyes would want him.
He cost Sassuolo around £5 million two years ago (Football Italia). So the Italian will undoubtedly expect a substantial profit if they move him on this summer.
