Deadline day has been an incredibly busy one for West Ham United.

West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Carlos Soler from PSG on deadline day, but Julen Lopetegui isn’t quite finished with his business just yet.

The West Ham manager is actually on the verge of overseeing the best transfer window we have ever witnessed at the London Stadium.

However, a few deals still need to happen in order for that to become a reality.

Lopetegui is clearly still very active in the market on deadline day, with one or two more transfers still to be complete.

It has been widely reported that the Hammers’ main focus is to shift on some fringe players before the window slams shut.

Now we’ve been halfway successful with that, further new arrivals certainly aren’t out of the question.

Things are really starting to heat up now for the Hammers.

The club are trying to strike numerous deals before tonight’s 11pm deadline – both incomings and outgoings.

However, there’s bad news regarding our pursuit of one player in particular.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea will sell Carney Chukwuemeka to West Ham on deadline day, but only for £40 million.

It was claimed early today that West Ham were trying to bring Carney Chukwuemeka to the London Stadium on loan.

However, our hopes of getting that deal done are now completely dead in the water it seems.

What a shame that is because Chukwuemeka would have been a sensational addition for the Hammers on deadline day.

Carney Chukwuemeka to West Ham a no-go

The England under-20 international is an elite talent, and he has so much potential.

He can play in central midfield, but is at his best when operating in the number 10 role.

He possesses incredibly technical ability, real physicality and plays with incredibly refreshing vigour and commitment.

The sky really is the limit for the Chelsea youngster, but it seems like Chelsea might be pricing him out of a move this summer.

West Ham definitely won’t be signing Carney Chukwuemeka for £40 million on deadline day.

Maybe this is a deal we can revisit either in January or next summer.
