West Ham target Samuel Umtiti could be sacked by Barcelona according to a report from Sport.
The Hammers are considering making a move for the Barcelona ace according to a report from Mundo Deportivo (Saturday July 25th addition, page 4).
David Moyes is well-known to be on the look-out to sign a top-class centre-back before the transfer window closes.
West Ham have been heavily linked with moves to bring Nikola Milenkovic and/or Kurt Zouma to the London Stadium this summer.
As things stand, however, it appears as though we are actually nowhere near signing anybody.
So could the Hammers look at Umtiti again? They certainly seem to have a good chance of prising him away from the Camp Nou.
West Ham target Umtiti ‘threatened with the sack’
Barcelona have allegedly threatened to unilaterally terminate the 27-year-old’s contract because of his poor attitude.
Now, judging by those claims, Barca would surely be open to the idea of selling him. Especially when taking into account their woeful current financial state.
The thing is, David Moyes would surely be wary of bringing a player with such a questionable attitude to the London Stadium this summer.
Umtiti was a great player in his day but he has been in woeful form over the past couple of years. His injury record is shocking as well.

West Ham obviously need to strengthen their central defensive ranks this summer. A move to sign Umtiti from Barcelona, as easy as it would be to get done, just isn’t the one, however.
