West Ham target Mohamed Bayo has been on fire for Clermont in Ligue 1 this season.
The 23-year-old was on fire in France’s second tier last season, bagging 22 goals and seven assists in 38 games (Transfermarkt).
After Clermont gained promotion to Ligue 1, however, there were question marks as to whether his incredible form would translate to the very highest level in France.
Bayo seems to have answered those questions already though. And that’s great news for the West Ham fans.
West Ham target Mohamed Bayo in clinical form
The Guinea international has proven that he has what it takes to make it when mixing it with the very best.
Bayo has bagged five goals and two assists in eight Ligue 1 games so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Seven goals involvements in eight games really is a very impressive return.
The Sun claims that West Ham are battling it out with Brighton to sign the Clermont ace in January.
And we think that Bayo would be a great signing for the Hammers. We could really do with the 23-year-old at the London Stadium.
At just 23, he has so much talent and potential. He is still very raw of course. He has all the skills needed but they need to be refined before he becomes an elite striker.
Importantly, Bayo possesses blistering pace and he is very strong indeed, so should be ideally suited to Premier League football.
Bayo at his best:
£10 million for the Guinean would represent great value for West Ham and Moyes really shouldn’t think twice about signing him in January if he has the chance.
