West Ham are surely fighting a losing battle as Liverpool reportedly make contract offer to 21-year-old Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
That’s according to football journalist Juan Pablo Varsky who claims that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made a contract offerer to the Argentina international.
Meanwhile, Portuguese publication Record claim that Liverpool have actually reached an agreement with Benfica to bring Fernandez to Anfield.

The central midfielder has proven just how good he is with a succession of top-class performances for Argentina at the World Cup out in Qatar.
He is clearly a star of the future, and Benfica were obviously aware of that, having included a whopping €120 million (£105 million) release clause into his contract (Record).
The Hammers are clearly fighting a losing battle, and Fernandez should have been someone we signed a couple of years ago.
Liverpool reportedly make contract offer to Fernandez
The Argentinian ace could very well be Anfield bound in January, or next summer.
That’s according to football journalist Juan Pablo Varsky who has claimed that Liverpool have approached the 21-year-old midfielder with a contract offer:
West Ham manager David Moyes may as well give up now!
It’s a shame really, because Fernandez is a really talented player.
He has been described as an ‘unreal’ player by well-renowned Twitter scout account Statman Dave. Meanwhile, TEAMtalk suggest that he will be considered as a ‘world-class’ player very shortly.
Fernandez has bagged one goal and three assists in 13 league games for Benfica so far this season (Who Scored).
During those appearances, the 21-year-old has averaged two tackles and one interception per game. In his 13 league outings for Benfica this term, Fernandez has made 94.3 passes on average and has recorded a completion rate of 89.9% (Who Scored).
The Argentinian ace is an orthodox central midfielder by trade, but he can also operate in the deep-lying central role.

The 21-year-old has a great engine, is technically very good and has an exceptional range of passing.
Enzo Fernandez would be a truly superb addition for either West Ham or Liverpool.
The Merseyside giants obviously have far greater financial muscle than we do though, so they are clearly in a better position than us to sign him.
And with Liverpool reportedly having made a contract offer to Fernandez, the South American star may well be swapping the Primeira Liga for the Premier League very soon indeed.
David Moyes will undoubtedly regret not having signed the 21-year-old sooner in my opinion.
