West Ham should swoop in and try and steal Okay Yokuslu from Leeds’ grasp.
Whites boss Marcelo Bilesa wants to bring the 27-year-old to Elland Road according to a report from Faro de Vigo (Print edition, May 29th, page 49).
Meanwhile, Hammers manager David Moyes will be desperate to add some central midfield reinforcements to his ranks at the London Stadium.
Okay Yokuslu was in superb form for West Brom after he moved to the Hawthorns on loan from Celta Vigo in January.
The 31-capped Turkey international has all of the attributes that West Ham are looking for in a central midfielder.
With Leeds apparently eyeing him up, however, the Hammers need to act fast.
West Ham should hijack Leeds’ Okay Yokuslu swoop
The 27-year-old made 16 Premier League appearances for West Brom this season. During those outings, he averaged 2.4 tackles, 2.2 interceptions and two clearances per game. He made 33.1 passes per match on average and recorded an impressive completion rate of 82.5% (Who Scored).
The Turk is gritty, tenacious, and plays with his heart on his sleeve.
Yokuslu would provide fantastic cover and competition for both Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek at the London Stadium.
We could, of course, offer the midfielder European football – something that Leeds are unable to do.
West Ham are a club on the rise. David Moyes needs to make four or five sensible signings this summer.
And Yokuslu would certainly be a brilliant addition for the Hammers.
Let’s hope that Moyes is considering hijacking Leeds’ alleged plans to sign him.
