West Ham are rivalling Spurs with move for prince of Rome Nicolo Zaniolo after a fallout with fans according to a new report from Italy.

They are at opposing ends of the league table right now so West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur need signings this month for very different reasons.

West Ham and bitter rivals Tottenham were linked with mutual interest in a number of players in the summer.

And it seems Antonio Conte and David Moyes will lock horns in the transfer market again for another player this month.

West Ham rival Spurs with move for prince of Rome Nicolo Zaniolo after fallout with fans claims new report from Italy

Because West Ham will rival Spurs with a move for prince of Rome Nicolo Zaniolo after a fallout with fans claims a new report from Italy.

Attacker Zaniolo had been hailed the new Francesco Totti and the new prince of Roma.

But his star has faded in the Italian capital under Jose Mourinho and now West Ham and Spurs are looking to bring him to London for a fresh start.

Respected Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla claims Zaniolo is at a crossroads in his career amid his most delicate moment at Roma.

The 23-year-old was booed by the Giallorossi fans during the Coppa Italia clash against Genoa.

Former Tottenham boss Mourinho gave the player his public backing. But the jeers have not gone down well with Zaniolo and now West Ham and Spurs are said to be making their move.

The likes of Nottingham Forest and Newcastle are also being linked.

But Pedulla – as well as Get Italian Football News – claim Tottenham and West Ham are ‘leading the race’.

Roma’s valuation is between €25 million to €30 million (£22-26m), with the player’s contract expiring next year.

It is being claimed this situation makes any renewal highly unlikely and Roma may therefore be forced to sell to West Ham or Tottenham this month.

“At the moment the only scenarios lead to the Premier League (there have been contacts) with Tottenham in the front row, followed by West Ham and Nottingham,” Pedulla states.

Zaniolo has scored just two goals and laid on one assist in 17 games this season – hence the Roma fans being unhappy with their “prince”.
