Hammers boss David Moyes is trying to get deals for a centre-back and a striker over the line before the transfer window slams shut.

If we get deals for those two positions done, however, the addition of another central midfielder would be a smart move from Moyes.

Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice are absolutely brilliant but more competition and cover is required for those two.

It seems as though Moyes has his eye on a midfielder who could do that exact job.

West Ham want Weston McKennie

The 22-year-old Juve star is on the Hammers’ radar according to Tuttosport.

Aston Villa, Everton and Borussia Dortmund allegedly want him as well.

The United States international would be an exceptional addition for West Ham.

The former Schalke man enjoyed a fine campaign with Juve last term, bagging five goals and two assists in 34 Serie A matches (Who Scored).

During those outings, The United States international averaged one tackle and 0.8 interceptions per game.

The American made 22.2 passes on average and recorded a completion rate of 85.4%.

McKennie is surely out of West Ham’s price-range, however with The Times claiming that a total deal for McKennie could cost around £45 million (£5m loan fee plus £40m transfer fee next year).

This would be a sensational signing for the Hammers. We just can’t see it happening, however.
