West Ham United are trying to sign long-term Tottenham Hotspur target Axel Disasi in the January transfer window.
That’s according to football journalist Dean Jones who told Give Me Sport that West Ham and Tottenham have both been scouting the 24-year-old Monaco centre-back.
Spurs have been linked with a moved to sign the 6ft 3in Frenchman for quite some time now – two years in fact according to Marca (translated via Sport Witness).
It seems as though West Ham could push Tottenham all the way this winter for Disasi’s signature though.
Both David Moyes and Antonio Conte are clearly keen to bolster their central defensive ranks at the London Stadium and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium respectively.
And it looks like both clubs could be after the same player in January…

Dean Jones told Give Me Sport that the Hammers and Spurs could both try to sign the Monaco ace in the January transfer window.
He is part of Didier Deschamps’ France World Cup squad, and has played two games for Les Bleus out in Qatar so far.
Disasi is an absolute powerhouse of a centre-back, and he can play as a right-back as well.
The Frenchman possesses pace in abundance, has composure in possession and is incredibly strong both in the air and on the ground in the tackle.
In 15 Ligue 1 games for Monaco so far this season, Disasi has racked up one goal and three assists. During those outings he has averaged 1.3 tackles, 2.2 interceptions, three clearances and 2.3 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).
The France international is a very solid passer of the football as well. In 15 Ligue 1 games for Monaco this term, he has made 48.3 passes on average per match and has recorded an average completion rate of 82.5% (Who Scored).
Disasi has been described as an ‘elite’ talent by The Monaco Tribune.
West Ham beating Tottenham to the signing of Axel Disasi in the January transfer window would be a massive statement from Moyes and the club’s owners.
Whether they are able to make it happen remains to be seen though.
