West Ham United are allegedly contemplating a bid to sign talented Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to highly-respected football journalist Fabrizio Romano who claims that the Hammers could be set to battle Arsenal for the 21-year-old’s signature this summer.
West Ham boss David Moyes will be very keen to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium before the start of the new season.
Mark Noble has retired whilst Alex Kral will almost certainly not be kept on at the club following an extremely underwhelming loan spell.
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek need more quality competition and cover in the middle of the park if West Ham are to compete on all fronts next season.
And it seems as though Hammers boss David Moyes has someone in particular in mind for the job…
West Ham contemplate Orkun Kokcu bid
It seems as though Hammers boss David Moyes is intent on strengthening his ranks before the start of the new season.
Nayef Aguerd has already been signed and there will surely now be plenty more new signings on the way.
A central midfielder may well be the next new arrival at the London Stadium.
And Fabrizio Romano claims that Feyenoord ace Orkun Kokcu is on West Ham’s radar:
The 21-year-old is a really special talent and is rated at around £50 million according to talkSPORT.
He has been described as a ‘stunning’ player by well-renowned football analytical and scouting website Breaking The Lines.
Kokcu is great with both feet, is very agile and tenacious, has an impressive engine and is a superb passer of the football.
In 32 Eredivisie games for Feyenoord last season, the 21-year-old bagged seven goals and nine assists (Who Scored).
In those outings, the 16-capped Turkey international averaged 1.3 tackles. He made 70.2 passes per game and recorded an 86.1% completion rate (Who Scored).
The 21-year-old would be a truly tremendous addition for the Hammers.
It’s highly debatable as to whether West Ham will make a £50 million bid for the Turk, however.
Let’s just hope that Feyenoord are willing to compromise on their valuation of Orkun Kokcu this summer.
