West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign brilliant Rennes centre-back Nayef Aguerd.
That’s according to a report from 90 Min who claim that the Hammers are currently in talks with Rennes and are close to agreeing a fee for the 26-year-old defender.

Central defence is obviously an area at the London Stadium where David Moyes wants to strengthen in the summer transfer window.

And now it seems as though talks are at an advanced stage to bring the Moroccan ace to East London from France…
West Ham close to agreeing Aguerd deal
90 Min reckon that the Hammers have been in deep discussions with Rennes about bringing the 26-year-old centre-back to the London Stadium in the summer.
It is alleged that West Ham have made good progress and are closing in on agreeing a fee for Aguerd.
The Morocco international would be a superb addition for the Hammers and would strengthen our centre-back department considerably.
The 26-year-old has been described as a brilliant defender by Get Football News France.
And he’s left-footed so is the ideal long-term replacement for Angelo Ogbonna.
In 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Rennes so far this season, Aguerd has averaged one interception, one tackle and 4.1 clearances per game. He has also won 3.1 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).

The Morocco international has made 71.7 passes per game on average and recorded an impressive completion rate of 89% (Who Scored).
Aguerd possesses exceptional ball-playing ability as well and this would help increase our resistance to the press from the opposition.
He could be available for just £17 million this summer according to GFFN.
And if West Ham do agree a deal to sign Aguerd, it will be a fantastic start to Moyes’s summer overhaul at the London Stadium.
