West Ham United remain in talks with Sassuolo about signing Gianluca Scamacca in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Sky Sports who claim that ‘dialogue between West Ham and Sassuolo remains open’.

Scamacca has been left out of two consecutive Sassuolo pre-season friendlies as speculation regarding his future with the Serie A club intensifies.

The Hammers are believed to be closing in on a deal to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea according to a report from The Express.

And whilst it’s unlikely that David Moyes will sign both strikers, it certainly seems as though the West Ham boss is keeping his options open…

West Ham still in Scamacca talks

According to a report from Sky Sports, the Hammers remain in open discussions with Sassuolo about bringing the 23-year-old striker to East London.

I still find it hard to believe that David Moyes will bring both Scamacca AND Broja to the London Stadium this summer.

If the Scot does manage to sign both, it will be a miracle.

We’d be happy with either Broja or Scamacca. They are both equally as good as each other. If I had to choose I’d probably opt for Broja purely because he has already proven himself in the Premier League.

That’s not undermining the Italian’s ability at all – he’s a superb striker.

The 23-year-old is an absolute unit. He stands at 6ft 5in tall but don’t let that fool you, he’s so much more than a bog-standard target man.

Sempre Inter recently described the towering striker as an ‘unbelievable’ player.

Scamacca possesses exceptional technique and has one of the most ferocious shots in the game at his disposal.

The 23-year-old bagged 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo this season (Transfermarkt). He really is a very good all-round striker.

The Italian should suit our playing style perfectly.

And with West Ham believed to be still in talks with Sassuolo about a deal for Scamacca, there is seemingly still a chance that the 23-year-old will move to the London Stadium this summer.
