West Ham boss David Moyes is prioritising a move to sign Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report from The Express who claim that the 25-year-old Manchester United man is the number one January transfer target for the Hammers manager.

Right-back is clearly an area where Moyes believes his West Ham squad is particularly weak.

And it has been obvious to see that that’s the case this season. Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson are nowhere near the levels they were 12 months ago.

Wan-Bissaka would be a huge upgrade on those two players. Gabby Agbonlahor believes that a move to the London Stadium well be on for him this winter.

And David Moyes obviously agrees…

West Ham prioritising Wan-Bissaka move

The Express claims that the 25-year-old is Moyes’s number one target in January. Let’s hope that’s true, because I think he would be an outstanding addition for the Hammers.

The 25-year-old possesses blistering pace. And that recovery speed would enable us to push further up the pitch, which ties in perfectly with Moyes saying that he wants his team to become more of a possession-based side.

If you are to do that, you need real recovery pace at the back and AWB possesses that in abundance.

The Manchester United right-back is an exceptional defender and is one of the very best tacklers around.

Wan-Bissaka has been described as an ‘explosive’ player by the The Athletic. Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves once labelled him as ‘unplayable’ (TEAMtalk).

His £100k-a-week contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2024 (Salary Sport), but Man United have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

Crystal Palace is said to be Wan-Bissaka’s most likely destination in January (90 Min). However, a move to the Eagles is far from set in stone for the pacy right-back.

And with West Ham allegedly prioritising a move to sign Wan-Bissaka, it seems as though the Manchester United ace’s signature is still very much up for grabs.
