West Ham United could be on the verge of dealing a big transfer blow to Newcastle United…for the third time this summer!
That’s according to The Daily Mail who claim that the Hammers are closing in on a deal to sign Newcastle target Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea.
At the start of the summer, the narrative amongst Hammers fans was that Newcastle would ruin our transfer window what with their new-found wealth.
After the takeover from the Saudi Public Investment Fund, the Magpies became the world’s richest football club. It seemed as though every player the Hammers were linked with, Newcastle stepped in and tried to hijack the deal from us.
So far though, it has to be said, we’re doing pretty well against the financial might of the Toon.
West Ham could deal triple transfer blow to Newcastle
The Hammers have already ousted the Toon in the races to sign Nayef Aguerd from Rennes and Alphonse Areola from Paris Saint-Germain.
It mattered little in end though as West Ham ended up bringing both players to the London Stadium.
And history could be set to repeat itself.
The Daily Mail claim that West Ham are closing in on signing Newcastle target Armando Broja from Chelsea.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe wants to bring the 20-year-old Albania international to St James’ Park according to a report from Sky Sports. It seems as though it could be third time unlucky for the Toon, however.
And the opposite can be said of the Hammers.
If West Ham beat Newcastle to the transfer of Broja it will be further evidence that Moyes is building something very exciting at the London Stadium.
Newcastle can have all the money in the world, but signing top-class players will obviously still be a difficult task for Eddie Howe this summer.
