West Ham reportedly could have a good chance of signing Malang Sarr from Chelsea this month.

French outlet Foot Mercato claimed earlier this week that the Hammers are eyeing up a move to sign the 22-year-old Chelsea ace.

There were doubts at the time though about West Ham’s chances of prising Sarr away from Stamford Bridge.

It was suggested at the time by fans of both clubs that Thomas Tuchel would be crazy to move another player on to West Ham considering the fact that we are currently only nine points behind Chelsea in the Premier League table with a game in hand!

It seems as though the Hammers could be very well placed to sign the young French centre-back, however…

West Ham advantage in race too sign Chelsea ace Malang Sarr?

Football.London reckon that Blues boss Tuchel could be willing to let the 22-year-old join the Hammers on loan in the January transfer window.

That is because Sarr moving to the London Stadium could help us upset Chelsea’s main rivals Tottenham and Arsenal in the race for the top four.

As mentioned earlier though, that could be a risky tactic.

West Ham are not too far behind Chelsea in the league table and if Moyes makes a couple of top class signings this month, we could push the Blues in the race for the top four.

We think that Sarr would be a brilliant addition to Moyes’s ranks.

The 22-year-old is brilliant in the air, is very strong and is quick along the ground. He has all of the attributes that West Ham have missed during the absences of Ogbonna and Zouma.

If he is available on loan until the end of the season, signing him should be an absolute no-brainer for West Ham.

It would be a good move for Sarr as well. At this stage of his career, the young Frenchman needs to be playing regular football.

If we do sign the former Nice man on loan though, it would be nice to include some kind of purchase option in the deal. We learnt the hard way with Jesse Lingard that a straight loan with no option is a deal that we shouldn’t entertain again in the future.
