West Ham United manager David Moyes drops a huge striker hint ahead of the January transfer window.

Moyes ended his long search for a new striker when he brought Gianluca Scamacca to the London Stadium from Sassuolo in the summer for around £35 million.

It could be argued that the Scot needs to add more quality to his centre-forward department though, if West Ham are to remain competitive on all fronts this season.

A recent report from the Sun suggested that the Hammers are looking to sign at least one striker in the January transfer window.

That would really increase competition for places up front at the London Stadium.

One man who’s seems to be perennially linked with West Ham is Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

And Moyes’s latest remarks on the Morocco international make for very interesting reading indeed…

The Scot has been writing columns for The Times during the World Cup.

And Moyes praised En-Nesyri, when delivering his verdict on the quarter final clash between Portugal and Morocco:

In Youssef En-Nesyri they (Morocco) have a centre forward who is an incredible good runner and gives them an outlet.

Moyes clearly rates the 25-year-old forward very highly indeed.

Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Sevilla are actually keen to sell En-Nesyri to West Ham in January.

And he allegedly could be available for just £13 million this winter.

Now, I haven’t been that impressed by the Sevilla forward in all fairness. But for £13 million, it could be argued that he would be a decent signing for West Ham.

And having three options through the middle would give us the ability to really mix up the way in which we play.

En-Nesyri was in great form during the 2020/21 season. He has struggled over the past 16 months, but perhaps a change of scenery will help him rediscover his best form.

Having Youssef En-Nesyri, Scamacca and Antonio as centre-forward options should put West Ham in a great place heading into the new year.

And after West Ham manager David Moyes dropped a big striker hint, it seems as though the Scot is doing everything he can to make that happen.
