Luis Guilherme appears set to part ways with West Ham United in the January transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo is not understood to be a big fan of the Brazilian, despite the Hammers shelling out big money to sign him.

Guilherme has been left out of West Ham squads, which is a clear indicator of where he stands in the manager’s pecking order.

What do you think has caused a potential rift between Nuno and Guilherme?

Luis Guilherme set for January move

According to Claret and Hugh, the Hammers hierarchy have told Guilherme that he can leave in the January transfer window.

The £20million signing has not managed to convince the Portuguese that he could be a part of his first team, so a winter exit is on the cards.

He was named as a starter in West Ham’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth and came off the bench in the following game against Liverpool, but has not been seen since then.

West Ham’s record when it comes to BIG MONEY signings isn’t great 💸

Who will be the player to break the curse?

West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta celebrates after his side had scored their third goal during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Newcastle United at London Stadium on November 2, 2025 in London, England.

There has been no update on any injury, so it is clearly Nuno who has been leaving him out of his matchday squad.

It’s understood that a host of clubs are keen on securing his services, along with teams in Portugal.

Given his first-team absence, it’s very possible that he never plays again for the Hammers.

How much does Guilherme earn at West Ham?

If West Ham United are to part ways with the 19-year-old, they will get him off the payroll and bank a decent transfer fee as well.

According to Capology, Guilherme is currently on £37.5k/week and his contract at the London Stadium does not run out until the summer of 2029.

This means that the Hammers are due to pay him little over £6million in wages over the next three-and-a-half years.

For someone who’s not expected to be a first-team regular, that is steep, and parting ways with him in January does seem to be the best option.

They will certainly make a loss on him, as no club is going to pay them the £20million they shelled out to bring him to London in the first place, but it is better than having him rot in the reserves.
