Luis Guilherme may have played his final game for West Ham United with an exit on the cards in the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old has played six Premier League matches this season, but has only made one start for West Ham.

Guilherme did not register a goal or assist under Graham Potter, and things have not changed under Nuno Espirito Santo.

West Ham United could cash in on Luis Guilherme in January

Guilherme started West Ham’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, but only played the first half of the game.

In the following match against Liverpool, the Brazilian came off the bench to play 22 minutes in the second period.

What do you think has caused a potential rift between Nuno and Guilherme?

The Hammers ended up losing 2-0 and he has not been a part of the matchday squad since then.

Nuno’s omission in two games without any update from the club was undoubtedly a worrying sign for him, but him not including him in the matchday squad against Aston Villa on Sunday could be the final nail in the coffin for his career at the London Stadium.

This clearly shows that all is not right between the player and manager behind the scenes, making a January exit on the cards.

What is your immediate REACTION to Nuno’s starting XI?

Which changes would you make?

Guilherme’s wages and likely transfer fee

The Hammers signed the winger for a staggering £25million fee back in 2024, and it’s fair to say that move has not been worth the money.

Initially, that outlay on a relatively unproven teenager seemed baffling, but fans believed that the club had a long-term plan with the deal.

That plan has not borne fruit, and despite his contract not running out until 2029, he could leave the London Stadium for the right money in January.

Expecting the same kind of money is unrealistic and the Hammers are likely to accept a £15million fee in the coming weeks.

It makes no sense to have a player like him rotting in the reserves and instead the hierarchy could cut their losses and get him off the wage bill.

According to Capology, he earns around £30k/week at the club, and that money could be spent on someone who can at least make the matchday squad for Nuno.
