Unseen footage emerges from Bournemouth vs West Ham United showing clear progress under Nuno

West Ham United appear to be making progress under Nuno Espirito Santo after their 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.

Callum Wilson’s brace gave the Hammers a two-goal lead at the Vitality Stadium, but they failed to hold on to it and could only settle for a point.

However, that proved to be a vital one as the East London club ended the weekend outside the relegation zone as Leeds United lost to Aston Villa.

West Ham appear to have gained some fight under Nuno

The game on Saturday was at 3 pm, so it was not broadcast live in the United Kingdom.

However, the West Ham social media team shared unseen footage from the contest, which highlighted a stark improvement in the Irons’ play.

The video shows the players getting stuck in, chasing down lost causes and putting their bodies on the line for the team.

If some of these challenges had not been made, Bournemouth would have been clean through on goal, so it is undoubtedly giving the team defensive solidity as well.

This was not a common theme under Graham Potter, where the team looked threadbare out of possession.

Under Nuno, they are more structured without the ball and the players seem to be more aware of what they are expected to do.

Nuno must keep his players motivated ahead of tricky run of fixtures

The Hammers will want to continue their ascent to the top half of the table, but things are going to be a bit difficult in the coming weeks.

They take on the defending champions Liverpool next, after which they visit two in-form teams in Manchester United and Brighton, before hosting fourth-place Aston Villa on 14 December.

After these four games, they welcome Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the London Stadium on 20 December.

While the matches are going to be tough to get something from, it’s important for the West Ham players not to get demoralised and focus on the task that’s at hand.

It’s on Nuno to ensure that the players know what’s expected from them. Even though they’re underdogs in all of the next five games, it is possible to pick up something from them.
