Callum Wilson made the headlines as Bournemouth and West Ham United played out a 2-2 draw in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The striker, who has nine England caps to his name, found the back of the net twice for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side against his former team at the Vitality Stadium.
Wilson’s brace ensured that the Hammers ended the day outside the relegation zone and will now be hoping that Leeds United do not pick up anything from their game against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Callum Wilson does something that has never been done before in Premier League history
It’s always nice for a player to return to his former team and score goals against them, showing them just what they are missing out on.
Wilson most certainly did that in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth and, in doing so, silenced critics of the West Ham United persuasion who were unsure of his abilities to lead the line for the London outfit.
He also achieved a feat never done before in the English top flight as he became the first player ever to score two goals in the first half of a Premier League game without completing a single pass.

During the time he was on the pitch, the 33-year-old attempted four passes, but none of them found their desired target.
Nuno will not mind that, as Wilson did more than what was expected from him, and the Portuguese will be hoping that it’s the start of a purple patch for him.
Will West Ham United sign a striker in January?
Wilson’s performance may tempt the Hammers hierarchy to give it until the end of the season to spend big money on a new striker, but that would be the wrong approach.
The English forward is already on the wrong side of 30 and has battled form and fitness issues over the last few seasons.
He would thrive if the pressure was taken off him and he could be a secondary striker or an impact substitute.
West Ham fans will be hoping that the hierarchy has begun work on identifying a top number nine in order to replace Niclas Fullkrug, as the German appears set to be on his way out.
