The 12-capped Belgium international joined Milan from Club Brugge last summer, but endured a disastrous debut campaign at the San Siro.

He received endless criticism for his performances for the Rossoneri, with just one assist and zero goals in 40 games last season (Transfermarkt).
However, there is clearly a player in there somewhere, and Hammers boss David Moyes is apparently prepared to offer De Ketelaere an escape route from Milan…
West Ham make contact to sign Belgium international Charles de Ketelaere
He was a hugely exciting young talent during his time with the Belgian side, but things haven’t worked out for him whatsoever in Italy.
His tally of no goals in 40 games for Milan last season really was shocking, especially considering the fact that he’s an attacker.
However, it’s clear that he has a lot of talent and maybe the move to Milan was just the wrong one for him.

Football journalist Dean Jones recently labelled the 22-year-old forward as ‘unbelievable’ when speaking to Give Me Sport.
He can play as a number 10, on the wing or even as a centre-forward if need be.
The Belgian possesses exceptional technique but was clearly suffering from a lack of confidence last season with Milan. Perhaps a move away from the San Siro is what he needs to rejuvenate his career.
Pianeta Milan claim that the Serie A giants want around £26 million for Charles de Ketelaere. That seems like an awful lot of money to spend on someone who was so poor last term. However, if West Ham could pick him up for closer to £15-20 million, I think he would be worth the punt for the Hammers.
