West Ham United have made contact to sign Barcelona forward Memphis Depay ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from ABC who claim that the 28-year-old striker is deemed as ‘transferable’ by Barcelona boss Xavi.

Signing a top-class striker will be one of the main priorities for Hammers manager David Moyes before the start of next season.
West Ham have had Michail Antonio as our only centre-forward for nearly 18 months now after Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax back in January 2021.
Your Club's SURPRISE Star This Season
That ended up costing us during the second half of the season as Antonio struggled for form and Moyes quite simply didn’t have any other option.
It seems as though the Scot is determined to address that issue in the summer transfer window…
West Ham eyeing ambitious Memphis Depay swoop
ABC reckon that the Hammers have actually made an initial approach to prise the Holland international away from the Camp Nou.
Was think that Depay would be a very good signing indeed for West Ham.
The 28-year-old has bagged 13 goals and two assists in 37 games for Barca so far this season (Transfermarkt).
The former Manchester United ace is an enigmatic, precocious talent and on his day he is unplayable. Depay is incredibly strong as well and would be ideally suited to leading the line on his own for the Hammers.
Sure, he has displayed some attitude problems in the past but who better to get him on the straight and narrow than David Moyes?
Barcelona want around €40 million (£34 million) for Depay according to Barca Universal.
West Ham may well be reluctant to pay that kind of money for Memphis Depay but perhaps if we could pick him up for closer to £25-30 million, this could be a deal that very easily might happen.
And we think the Dutchman would be a very solid addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.
