Manchester City could be set to show up West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
West Ham and Manchester City are both expected to be very busy indeed in the market this summer, with Graham Potter and Pep Guardiola in urgent need of reinforcements.
The problem is, Man City obviously have much more pull than the Hammers, and the East London outfit could be made to pay for a big mistake in the past.
Potter is allegedly planning a big squad revamp at the London Stadium during the off-season, and boy do we need it.

The Hammers head coach has already proven to be a class above Julen Lopetegui, but he must oversee a successful summer window if he is to bring some genuine progress to the London Stadium.
Potter has a lot of mess to clear up at West Ham, after some awful recruitment over the past couple of years.
And now the Hammers will now really regret missing out on one player in particular.
Manchester City eye long-term West Ham target Tijjani Reijnders
De Telegraaf claim that Man City are chasing the signing of AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders this summer.
The Hammers were heavily linked with a move for the Holland international back in the summer of 2023, but he joined Milan from AZ Alkmaar instead…for just £17 million (Sempre Milan).
Back in 2023, West Ham boss at the time David Moyes got a first hand view of just how good Reijnders is.
The Hammers fans did as well, and we were all hugely impressed by the Dutchman’s talent during our two-legged Europa Conference League semi-final clash with AZ Alkmaar.
Reijnders was absolutely brilliant for Alkmaar against the Hammers, especially during the first-leg at the London Stadium when he scored from outside the penalty area.
West Ham have very much missed the boat when it comes to signing the midfielder now though, with Man City in for him.
Calcio Mercato have claimed that the 26-year-old is valued at around €50 million (£42 million) by Milan, and annoyingly, that still represents good value!
What Graham Potter has said about West Ham transfers
As soon as Potter got the Hammers job, he highlighted the need to bolster his ranks.
West Ham have one of the weakest and oldest squads in the top flight.
Potter has to change all of that with four very specific signings in my opinion.
The 49-year-old needs to sign a rapid centre-forward, a powerhouse box-to-box central midfielder, an imposing centre-back who’s comfortable with the ball at his feet and a top-class goalkeeper.
Those four signings should be his main priorities, but he needs to supplement them with two or three more new arrivals as well.
Plenty will be leaving the London Stadium this summer, and a big squad overhaul is expected.
It’s just a shame that West Ham won’t have a chance of bringing in someone like Tijjani Reijnders this summer, because he’s exactly what we need.
