West Ham are very keen to sign Hertha Berlin defender Niklas Stark according to a report from Sport 1.

Hammers boss David Moyes may well have his eye on a new centre-back addition following Angelo Ogbonna being ruled out for potentially the rest of the season after rupturing his ACL.
West Ham are fairly well stocked in the centre-back department, however.
Moyes has Issa Diop, Craig Dawson and talented youngsters Aji Alese and Jamal Baptiste to call upon in reserve.

In spite of all that though, it seems like the Scot is eyeing further central defensive reinforcements.
West Ham eyeing January swoop for Niklas Stark
The 26-year-old defender is on the Hammers’ radar according to Sport 1.
In fact, it is suggested that West Ham have already opened discussions with the two-capped Germany international’s agent.
We might be able to pick him up for a bargain fee in January, with his contract with Hertha set to expire in the summer.

We think that Stark would be a superb signing for West Ham.
Standing at 6ft 3in tall, the 26-year-old is a big and powerful defender. He can also operate in the defensive midfield position and that versatility will undoubtedly appeal to Moyes.
In 10 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, Stark has averaged one tackle, 1.6 interceptions, 6.1 clearances and 0.6 blocks per game. He has also won an average of 2.2 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).
The 26-year-old is pretty good with the ball at his feet as well. He’s averaged 43.7 passes per match and has recorded a completion rate of 84% (Who Scored).
Considering his quality and versatility, signing him in January for a bargain fee should be a no-brainer for West Ham.
