Everton are reportedly pushing hard to sign £44 million West Ham United transfer target Arnaut Danjuma in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report from El Periódico Mediterráneo who claim that Everton boss Frank Lampard is very keen to bring the 25-year-old forward to Goodison Park this winter.

It is suggested that the Toffees want to sign Danjuma on loan until the end of the season, without an obligation to buy him – and that apparently will suit Villarreal, because it would get his wages off the books for five months.

Now, this may interest West Ham. Hammers boss David Moyes tried to bring the forward to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.

And with Maxwell Cornet out injured for an unknown period of time, Moyes may well be on the look-out for a new attacking wide player.

Danjuma has everything that West Ham need at the moment, but it seems as though Everton are leading the charge for his signature…

El Periódico Mediterráneo claim that the Toffees are the club currently pushing hardest to sign the 25-year-old Villarreal attacker on loan until the end of the season.

Football Espnana claim that the Netherlands international is valid at around €50 million (£44 million) by Villarreal, so it will be interesting to see whether any club is willing to part with that kind of cash for him.

I would actually have loved Danjuma to join West Ham. He has been described as an ‘incredible’ player by One Football.

If Moyes really turned his noise up at the chance to sign him, he made a huge mistake in my opinion. He bagged 16 goals and four assists in 34 games for Villarreal last season, and has six goals to his name this term (Transfermarkt).

The West Ham boss may well still have a chance to make up for that, but as things stand, it appears as though Everton is the most likely destination for Arnaut Danjuma in the January transfer window.
