Hammers boss David Moyes is very keen to bring a top class centre-back to the London Stadium this summer (Claret and Hugh).
It seems as though Dean Smith is trying to do exactly the same at Villa Park.
West Ham and Aston Villa could be set to battle it out for Young Boys centre-back Mohamed Ali Camara.
The Hammers and the Villans were allegedly mightily impressed by the 23-year-old’s form for Young Boys last season.

West Ham have advantage over Aston Villa in Mohamed Ali Camara race
The Hammers have an edge over Villa.
David Moyes guided his West Ham side to a brilliant sixth placed finish last season. And because of that, Europa League football awaits us next term.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa can’t offer European football to the five-capped Guinea international.

That may well be enough to tip the scales in our favour.
And we think Camara would be a fine addition for the Hammers.
In six Europa League appearances for Young Boys last season, the towering 6ft 3in defender averaged one tackle, 1.5 interceptions and 2.8 clearances per game. He also won an average of 1.8 aerial duals per match during those outings (Who Scored).
The Young Boys ace is incredibly athletic and has bundles of pace at his disposal.
He is also a very good passer. In six Europa League games this season, he made an average of 37.3 passes per match and recoded a completion rate of 83.9% (Who Scored).

Beating Villa to Camara’s signature would be a big statement from West Ham. Let’s hope the lure of Europa League football is enough to make it happen.
