West Ham winger Felipe Anderson could be presented as a gift to the Lazio fans this summer according to a report from Italian media outlet Noi Biancocelesti.
The 28-year-old’s days at the London Stadium seem to be numbered.
He joined the Hammers from Lazio in the summer of 2018 for around £42 million (Reuters).
Despite making a fine start to life in the Premier League, Anderson has really struggled over the past 18 months.
He left the London Stadium to join Porto on loan in October but he has experienced similar problems in Portugal to the ones he endured at West Ham.
The Hammers winger just seems to be an absolute shadow of his former self.
David Moyes will be keen to bolster his summer transfer budget. Moving the Brazilian on before the start of next season seems like somewhat of a no-brainer.
West Ham to sell Felipe Anderson to Lazio?
Noi Biancocelesti claims that that certainly could be a possibility this summer.
It is suggested that former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants to bring the South American to Lazio.
Whether the Serie A outfit will be prepared to offer the Hammers a decent fee for Anderson, however, remains to be seen.
One thing’s for sure – getting rid of Felipe this summer will be crucial to David Moyes’ transfer plans.
The Brazilian is on £85k-a-week (Spotrac) and the sooner we can get those massive wages off our books the better.
And it seems as though a return to Lazio is a real possibility for Anderson this summer.
