West Ham are set for early morning talks with Marseille and Newcastle to seal two deadline day deals claims French outlet L’Equipe.
Nothing good ever happens on Monday mornings. But that could be about to change for West Ham.
Because L’Equipe claims the Hammers will this morning hold talks with Marseille to try and finalise the signing of defender Duje Caleta Car.

And talks are also being held with Newcastle to offload Issa Diop according to L’Equipe.
There was no announcement from either club, though, and – as always seems to be the case with West Ham – it comes down to deadline day once again to see if the east Londoners can get players in.

David Moyes has publicly stated he wants to sign a left-sided centre-back and a striker in this window.
But the Scot has always insisted – in line with his strict West Ham recruitment policy – that he will only sign players who are better than what he has.
Well if L’Equipe’s claim overnight is accurate West Ham could be about to do just that by offloading Diop and bringing in Caleta Car today.

West Ham in early AM talks with Marseille and Newcastle to seal two deadline day deals claims L’Equipe
“In the home stretch of the transfer window, OM could still be active, Duje Caleta-Car could notably join West Ham,” L’Equipe reported last night as transcribed by Hammers News.
“The day will also be punctuated by the last moments of the transfer window, of course, while Pablo Longoria has set himself the objective of making a big sale, at least. As always at the end of the market, Duje Caleta-Car is concerned (involved).
“On Sunday, the Marseille president was not yet satisfied with the conditions offered by West Ham, which is negotiating in parallel with Newcastle for the departure of its central defender Issa Diop. The situation is of course likely to change on Monday.”

GFFN also picked up on the story, claiming the talks would be held this morning.
“No agreement between West Ham and Marseille for Duje Caleta Car at the end of this evening – the two clubs will be back at it again in the early morning – in the meantime, active negotiations between Newcastle and West Ham over the sale of Issa Diop. It’s deadline day baby,” GFFN said.
One player who won’t be on his way to West Ham it seems is DCC’s Marseille teammate Bamba Dieng.
The Hammers have been linked with the striker in recent weeks.
And while L’Equipe confirmed interest in Dieng from England, the report states that nothing concrete has been offered and therefore he is likely to stay with OM.
Let the madness begin.
