West Ham open talks to sign Juventus ace Weston McKennie according to a report from Football Insider.
Hammers boss David Moyes strengthened his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium ion transfer deadline day by bringing in Alex Kral on loan with an option to buy him next summer.
Obviously we didn’t end up signing the 25-capped United States International. But it seems as though Moyes is still keen to bring the 23-year-old to the London Stadium.
West Ham open talks to sign Juventus ace Weston McKennie
The Hammers have actually opened talks to sign the Juve star according to Football Insider.
It is claimed that McKennie is West Ham’s top transfer target.
The American would be a superb signing for the Hammers. And he is available for around £25 million according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The former Schalke man enjoyed a fine campaign with Juve last term, bagging five goals and two assists in 34 Serie A matches (Who Scored).
During those outings, The United States international averaged one tackle and 0.8 interceptions per game.
The American made 22.2 passes on average and recorded a completion rate of 85.4%.
The arrival of McKennie would provide David Moyes with some seriously strong options in the middle of the park. Signing him for just £25 million sounds like an absolute no-brainer. It just depends whether the West Ham owners are prepared to back the Scot once again in the transfer market in January.
Let’s hope that there is some truth to Football Insider’s report because there aren’t many better young midfielders out there than the 23-year-old Juve star.
