Hammers boss David Moyes wanted to bring the prolific 27-year-old to the London Stadium in the summer (All Nigeria Soccer and Voetbal Belgie).
West Ham failed to sign the Nigeria international, however, after Genk were allegedly demanding around £25 million for his services.
The Genk hitman was on fire last season racking up 29 goals in 33 League games. He has a fairly impressive career record as well with 129 goals in 272 appearances to his name (Transfermarkt).

He’s made a fine start to this season as well with 11 goals in 12 games to his name.
West Ham will sign Paul Onuachu if he impresses
The 27-year-old striker is exactly the kind of player Moyes should be looking to sign.
The 13-capped Nigeria international is an absolute giant. Standing at 6ft 7in tall, Paul Onuachu is understandably an absolute menace in the air.
The 27-year-old has been described as ‘unplayable’ by Nigerian football website Soccernet.

And if seems as though Onuachu could be London Stadium bound of he impresses for Genk in their Europa League clash with West Ham, as claimed by Sport/Foot journalist Peter t’Kint:
“In a few weeks, after the international break, there will be a showdown with West Ham, we are looking forward to that with great anticipation. If Paul Onuachu also hands over his business card (to West Ham), he will be gone in January. Unfortunately”
West Ham face off with Genk twice before the January transfer window closes – on October 21st and November 4th.

And if Onuachu scores a couple of goals it will be no surprise if West Ham make a move to sign him during the winter transfer window.
