West Ham United have allegedly just had a season-long loan bid for Everton centre-back Michael Keane rejected.
That’s according to The Sun journalist Phil Cadden who claims that Hammers boss David Moyes was knocked back when he tried to bring the 29-year-old defender to the London Stadium this summer.

Moyes’s need for a new centre-back has been well-documented already.
Nayef Aguerd is currently out injured and could be on the sidelines for a further eight weeks or so whilst Angelo Ogbonna is nowhere near fully match fit. Craig Dawson is struggling with a thigh strain as well.
Meanwhile, Issa Diop left the London Stadium to join Fulham yesterday.
That leaves Kurt Zouma as the Hammers’ only fully fit senior centre-back. So it’s clear to see why Moyes wants another body through the door…

The Sun journalist Phil Cadden reckon that the Hammers have been knocked back in their approach to sign the 29-year-old centre-back.
We have to say though, we’re happy with that news.
There are so many better defenders available out there. I thought Moyes didn’t like signing players for the sake of it? I thought he’d prefer to wait further down the line to get a player he actually wants rather than just put a band aid over the wound so to speak?
Signing Keane from Everton would have been the epitome of a panic buy.
The 29-year-old is slow and cumbersome and really is very poor when in possession of the football.
He is strong in the air and the tackle but his skillset is limited to say the least.
We get that it would only have been a season-long loan but there are still plenty of better options out there. Nikola Milenkovic, Attila Szalai, Tanguy Nianzou and even Tyrone Mings would all be preferable to the Everton defender.
It seems as though West Ham won’t be signing Michael Keane this summer though.
And that’s a very good thing indeed in my book.
