West Ham United have allegedly made an enquiry for towering Hertha Berlin defender Jordan Torunarigha.

That’s according to a report from SportBILD who claim that the Germany international is hesitant to sign a new deal with Hertha Berlin because he is aware of the enquiry made by the Hammers.

West Ham boss David Moyes has allegedly been tracking the 24-year-old centre-back since last month.

Jordan Torunarigha spent the season just gone on loan with KAA Gent and the Belgian side are keen to sign him on a permanent deal this summer, as are Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

So West Ham will face plenty of competition for the three-capped Germany international centre-back.

In spite of the recent addition of Nayef Aguerd, we believe that the Hammers should be going all out for the Hertha Berlin ace in the summer transfer window…

West Ham make Jordan Torunarigha enquiry

The Hammers have submitted their interest in signing the German centre-back this summer according to a report from SportBILD.

And we believe that Torunarigha would be a very smart addition for West Ham. He’s allegedly available for a bargain fee too!

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that the 24-year-old defender could be available for just €5 million (£4 million) this summer, if he doesn’t sign a new deal with the Bundesliga outfit.

For that price, we believe that Torunarigha would be an exceptional addition for West Ham.

Standing at 6ft 3in at all, the German is very strong in the air but he’s quick along the ground as well.

Crucially, he’s left-footed, and can also play at left-back, so Moyes would be getting a top-class player for just £4 million who can operate in two positions! It’s surely a no-brainer.

If West Ham do sign Jordan Torunarigha, after the recent addition of Aguerd, we will be in a very strong position defensively for the next five years or so.
