West Ham United are reportedly keen to sign Josip Sutalo from Dinamo Zagreb this summer.

According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, £17 million-rated Josip Sutalo is firmly on the radar of West Ham in the summer transfer window.

Craig Dawson was sold in January whilst Angelo Ogbonna is now on the wrong side of 35. Meanwhile, Kurt Zouma continually struggles with injury problems.

And it seems as though Moyes has somewhat of an unheralded centre-back name lined up to come in and strengthen his options…

TuttoMercatoWeb reckon that the Hammers are one of numerous clubs interested in signing the eight-capped Croatia international this summer.

Sutalo is a very accomplished defender in his homeland. However, the step up to the Premier League might be a real shock for him, and I’m just not sure whether parting with £17 million to sign him would be a good move from West Ham.

In six Champions League appearances for Dinamo Zagreb last season, the 23-year-old averaged two tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 4.3 clearances and two successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

He’s obviously a very strong centre-half who is dominant in the air and someone who relishes the physical battle.

However, I would prefer West Ham to go for someone proven like Harry Maguire of Jonathan Tah this summer. Even Taylor Harwood-Bellis would be a batter option as far as I’m concerned due to his experience of playing in England.

It will be interesting to see whether Moyes thinks the same.
