West Ham may well have been given a big boost in the race for Paul Onuachu after his agent suggested that Arsenal have not made any contact to sign the Genk hitman.

The Hammers have been linked with a move to sign the 27-year-old striker over the past month or so (All Nigeria Soccer and Own Goal Nigeria).

David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

And Paul Onuachu seems to be ideally suited for the job at West Ham. He scored 35 goals in just 41 games for Genk last season and he is a real menace in the air.

The Hammers received somewhat of a blow when the Nigeria international admitted that his dream move would be to join Arsenal (Voetbal Nieuws).

It appears as though the 27-year-old’s feelings towards the Gunners are nonreciprocal.

Onuachu’s agent spoke to Own Goal Nigeria and admitted that a move from Arsenal has not yet been forthcoming:

“It will be nice if Arsenal want him as he is a boyhood fan of the team, but that is not the case at the moment. No contact has been made yet. We are only seeing it in the papers and on the internet. I can’t confirm anything at the moment because we are still very much at the stage of receiving and assessing offers. We will be more clear on options soon. For now, we are not confirming anything.”

Onuachu would be a brilliant signing for the Hammers.

It seems as though the door could now be open for David Moyes to swoop in and bring the Nigerian to the London Stadium.

Perfect Moyes signing

Standing at 6ft 7in tall, the Genk ace would make us even more dangerous from set-pieces.

The 27-year-old has been described as ‘unplayable’ by Nigerian football website Soccernet.

He could be available for around €30 million (£25 million) according to Own Goal Nigeria. That seems like great value to us.

And West Ham should not hesitate to sign Onuachu, especially given the fact that Arsenal are yet to make a move for the Nigerian ace.
