West Ham handed huge Terem Moffi boost as Lorient reportedly make stance very clear

West Ham have been handed a huge Terem Moffi boost with the news that Lorient would prefer to sell the striker to West Ham rather than Nice.

That’s according to a report from French publication L’Equipe who claim that Lorient really don’t want to sell the 23-year-old to a Ligue 1 rival.

Hammers boss David Moyes has been linked with a move to bring Moffi to the London Stadium for the past 10 days now.

And it seems like West Ham can sign him, if the owners really want to make it happen of course.

There really should be no debate here. The Hammers need to sign Terem Moffi desperately, especially given Michail Antonio’s rapid regression.

West Ham handed huge Moffi boost

L’Equipe are reporting that the door is wide open for the Hammers to sign the Nigerian ace because Lorient don’t want to sell to their rivals Nice.

The Hammers have reportedly made a £20 million bid for Moffi.

Whether Lorient will accept that bid remains to be seen, but if they do, we will have a serious player on our hands.

Described by Total Football Analysis as a ‘nuisance’ Moffi is exactly what we need at the London Stadium, and he would be the perfect foil for Gianluca Scamacca.

Moffi would take West Ham’s attacking play to a whole new level entirely.

He is absolutely rapid and is strong as an ox. He is generally a nuisance for opposing defenders and would offer a completely different option to Gianluca Scamacca through the middle, what with his power and pace.

He’s been on fire in Ligue 1 this season, with 12 goals in 18 games for Lorient to his name (Transfermarkt).

If we manage to sign Moffi for an initial £20 million, it will be great business from the Hammers.

And the latest news regarding Moffi is a major boost for West Ham, that’s for sure.
