West Ham have been handed a big boost in their pursuit of Nahitan Nandez with The Athletic claiming that Leeds are now unlikely to sign the Uruguayan midfielder.

Both the Hammers and the Whites are thought to be chasing the 25-year-old Cagliari ace. That’s according to ExWHUemployee, Centotrentuno and La Nuova Sardegna.
David Moyes and Marcelo Bielsa both need to bolster their central midfield ranks at the London Stadium and Elland Road respectively.
It seems as though the East London outfit may now be in a great position to win the race for the diminutive South American, however.
West Ham boost as report makes claim about Leeds interest in Nandez
The Athletic claims that the 25-year-old is no longer on the Whites’ radar.
With Leeds allegedly now unlikely to sign Nandez, the door could well be wide open for West Ham to swoop in.
The Uruguay international would be a superb addition to David Moyes’s side. The 25-year-old averaged 1.8 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.3 dribbles and 1.5 clearances in 32 Serie A appearances last season. He made 30.9 passes per game on average during those outings and recorded a completion rate of 77.7% (Who Scored).
Soccer Souls describe the tenacious, tough-tackling midfielder as ‘outstanding’. In other words, he’s perfect for West Ham and the intense, aggressive nature of Premier League football.
La Nuova Sardegna claims Nandez could cost around £25 million this summer. That’s great value, if we can afford it of course.

Only time will tell whether the Hammers board are prepared to back Moyes with that kind of cash, however.
