Enson Haber and NTV Spor have both claimed recently that Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the centre-back to the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham have been linked with plenty of centre-backs since the transfer window opened.

We think that Szalai would be one of the better ones, however.

But who is he?

Attila Szalai profile

The 23-year-old was born in Budapest, Hungary in January 1998. He stands at 6ft 4in tall and is incredibly well built.

Szalai began his career with Rapid Wien and made his senior debit for the club in the Austrian Bundesliga back in May 2016.

He then joined Hungarian outfit Mezőkövesd in the summer of 2017 and made just two appearances before being moved on to Cypriot outfit Apollon Limassol.

Whilst playing in Cyprus, Slazai was handed his International debut for Hungary in November 2019. He has gone on to rack up 16 international caps for his country.

The 23-year-old then made the move that could end up defining his career. He joined Fenerbahce in January 2021.
