West Ham United are allegedly set to miss out on the signing of Nantes attacking midfielder Ludovic Blas this summer.
That’s according to a report from Foot Mercato who claim that the 24-year-old star is all set to join Ligue 1 outfit Lille.

West Ham were allegedly recently offered the chance to sign Blas for just £17 million.
Foot Mercato claim that the French attacking midfielder will now join Lille for just €15 million (£12.5 million).

That’s a real shame, especially considering West Ham’s desperate need for an attacking midfielder…
Ludovic Blas won’t be joining West Ham
The 24-year-old is set to join Lille imminently according to a report from Foot Mercato.
We would have loved to see Blas at the London Stadium.
Blas is a left-footed attacking midfielder who is most comfortable when playing in the number 10 position, although he can play out wide as well.
The 24-year-old possesses exceptional technique and has impressive pace and energy. The Frenchman is pretty strong as well – something that would have boded well for his chances of adapting to the physicality of the Premier League.
He has been described as ‘incredible and spectacular’ by former Liverpool ace Pedro Chirivella who suggested that he is better than any other player he has played alongside (Daily Star).

Blas bagged 15 goals and five assists in 41 games for Nantes last term. He’s not just a flash in the pan either. The season before, he racked up 11 goals and five assists in 39 games (Transfermarkt).
The 24-year-old would have been a truly sensational addition for West Ham this summer. We think he would actually have been a much better signing for us than Jesse Lingard.
After West Ham missed out on Lingard, we’re hugely surprised that David Moyes didn’t try to bring Ludovic Blas to the London Stadium.
That ship appears to have sailed now though. And it will be interesting to see whether Moyes has any alternative options lined up.
We believe that the Hammers will regret not having pushed harder to sign Blas though.
