West Ham are now leading Tottenham in the race for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic according to a report from The Express.

That is really welcome news for Hammers fans who are growing increasingly more disgruntled with every day that passes during this transfer window.
Calciomercato claimed a few days ago that Tottenham had made an approach to sign the 23-year-old centre-back.
Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo clearly wants to bolster his defensive ranks this summer. In fact, he needs to do that badly.
Not anywhere near as much as David Moyes does at the London Stadium, however.

Milenkovic would be the absolute ideal signing for West Ham this summer.
West Ham lead Tottenham in Milenkovic race
Considering how good the Serbia international is, that news is a huge boost for the Hammers, if true of course.
West Ham have opened talks to sign Milenkovic whilst Tottenham are prioritising a move to sign Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero according to The Express.
The 23-year-old is big and strong, tenacious in the tackle and dominant in the air. He is very similar in playing style to Nemanja Vidic.

In 34 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season, the Serbian scored three goals and registered one assist. In those outings, he averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 3.6 clearances and one block per match. The 23-year-old won an average of 3 aerial duals per game. He also had an 86% pass completion rate from an average of 46.6 passes per match (Who Scored).
Milenkovic really should be West Ham’s number one centre-back target. He’s allegedly available for just €16 million (£13.6 million) this summer (Calciomercato). That really is unbelievable value for money.
