Sky Sports were first to report on the news that the Hammers were in talks to sign the Frenchman from Chelsea last week.
David Moyes is keen to bolster his centre-back ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
In fact, signing a top class central defender is the Scot’s number one priority according to ExWHUemployee.

And what a great signing Zouma would be for West Ham.
As things stand, Chelsea want around £25 million for the French defender whilst the Hammers are prepared to pay up to £20 million (Sky Sports).
Kurt Zouma has heart set on West Ham move
The Daily Mail have provided a boost for the Hammers and David Moyes by suggesting that the 26-year-old has no interest in joining Sevilla.
It is alleged that the powerful centre-back is set on moving to the London Stadium.

Let’s just hope that we manage to agree a fee with Chelsea.
In 24 Premier League outings for Chelsea last season, Zouma averaged 0.7 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 3.8 clearances per game. He also won an average of 3.6 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).
Some have questioned the Frenchman’s passing ability but his stats last season dispel the myth that he isn’t great with the ball at his feet.
The 26-year-old made 74 passes on average per game last season and recorded a mightily impressive completion rate of 90.9% (Who Scored).

This is just one that we need to get done asap. £25 million would be a reasonable price. Perhaps if we meet Chelsea somewhere in the middle and offer around £22 or £23 million, it will be enough to tempt them into selling.
