Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to strengthen in pretty much every department of his squad this summer.
One area where the Scot is fairly well covered, however, is right-back.
Bearing that in mind, it came as somewhat of a surprise when The Telegraph reported that West Ham were keen to sign Burnley defender Phil Bardsley.

The right-back was a decent player in his day, but he’s 36 now.
Surely there are better options out there for us.
And signing 36-year-old Bardsley certainly would fit into David Moyes’s self-proclaimed vision for West Ham.
The Scot has regularly insisted that he wants to build a young and hungry squad at the London Stadium.
