David Moyes wants to keep Manuel Lanzini at West Ham now according to a report from The Athletic.

It is suggested that the Scot was originally prepared to let the Argentinian play-maker leave the London Stadium.
Moyes now sees Lanzini as part of his plans, however.

The 28-year-old has really struggled since suffering a serious ACL injury back in the summer of 2018.
All of that changed when he dropped into a deeper role against Burnley last season.
Lanzini looked completely at home in the unfamiliar position. And with West Ham looking very short in the central midfield department, the South American is a great option to have.

That’s according to The Athletic.

It is suggested that the Scot is planning to utilise the West Ham ace in the deep-lying midfield role during the season that lies ahead.
That’s probably the right call. We all love Lanzini and are desperate to see him return to his best.
The former River Plate ace is still under contract with West Ham until the summer of 2023 and the Hammers have the option of extending that by a further two years.

The Athletic’s report certainly seems to suggested that Moyes thinks that could be the case.
