Indeed, West Ham fans are excited about Kante’s potential. Watching him move on at a time where some of their ready-made stars are almost certain to depart would be a bitter pill to swallow.
While it would be unwise to put too much pressure on a 20-year-old midfielder who has only ever made 14 appearances for the club at senior level, there is genuine excitement about Kante’s potential.
As such, the club certainly risk invoking the ire of their supporters if they were to sell. There are surely other players, many of whom are far more culpable for the club’s relegation, who should be heading out the door first.
