Chelsea boss Graham Potter is keen to bring West Ham target Martin Terrier to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Jeunes Footeux who claim that Chelsea will need to pay around €50 million (£43 million) in order to sign Terrier.

West Ham boss David Moyes is allegedly keen to bring the 25-year-old forward to the London Stadium.

The Scot will undoubtedly now have his work cut out though, with Chelsea lurking.

Terrier is a fantastic player and has all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

And there will likely be a hotly contested race for his signature in January…

Chelsea eye West Ham target Martin Terrier

According to a report from Jeunes Footeux, Potter is very keen to sign the French forward in the January transfer window.

So West Ham face a really difficult task, if we are to bring him to the London Stadium.

Terrier bagged 21 goals and four assists in 37 Ligue 1 games for Rennes last season, and this term his has 11 goals and four assists in 19 outings to his name (Transfermarkt).

Much like his name suggests, the Frenchman is a hard-working, tenacious forward. He has bags of pace, is a good finisher and is very strong in the air.

Terrier is also very good when playing with his back to goal, holding up the ball and bringing his teammates into the game.

The Rennes ace can play anywhere along the front-line and that makes his £43 million price-tag seem like really good value.

The Frenchman has been described as ‘rapid’ by Total Football Analysis. He has also been labelled as ‘brilliant’ by Ligue 1’s official Twitter account.

Martin Terrier would have been an exceptional addition for West Ham in January. It seems as though that ship has sailed though.

Chelsea are undoubtedly more of an attractive prospect than West Ham at the moment, and that may mean that we have no chance whatsoever of signing Martin Terrier.
