West Ham are closely monitoring Borussia Monchengladbach soon-to-be free agent Matthias Ginter ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report form Sky Sports who claim that the Hammers are keen to bring the 28-year-old centre-back to the London Stadium on a free transfer at the end of this season.
The 46-capped Germany international is out of contract with Gladbach in the summer.
West Ham boss David Moyes is desperate to brig a top-class centre-back to the London Stadium in the summer.
Angelo Ogbonna is out with a damaged ACL whilst Kurt Zouma seems to consistently have injury problems.
With so many new signings needed this summer, Moyes would be wise to explore the free agent market. And it seems as though that is exactly what he plans to do…
West Ham eyeing Germany international Matthias Ginter on a free transfer
Sky Sports claims that the Hammers are closely monitoring the 28-year-old’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
What an incredible signing Ginter would be for West Ham, especially on a free transfer!
He has played 25 Bundesliga games for Gladbach this season. During those outings, the 28-year-old has averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 3 clearances per game. He’s also won an average of 2.9 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).
Ginter has made 67.2 passes on average per game and has recorded a completion rate of 83.6% (Who Scored).
The German is clearly very good in the air and with the ball at his feet. He would be a sensational addition for the Hammers.
Signing him on a free transfer in the summer should be an absolute no-brainer for West Ham.
Ginter is a proven winner and possesses all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League. The Monchengladbach ace is wanted but he likes of Juventus, Tottenham and Aston Villa as well though. So West Ham won’t have a free run at Ginter’s signature this summer.
