Nikola Vlasic joining Torino from West Ham United on a permanent deal might not yet be a foregone conclusion.

That’s according to Torino chairman Urbano Cairo who has been discussing Vlasic’s impressive form for his team this season.

The 25-year-old joined the Serie A side on a season-long loan in the summer, and they have an option to buy him for around £13 million (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Vlasic is reportedly desperate to seal his permanent move to Turin, and allegedly has no interest in returning to the London Stadium.

It seems as though the 41-capped Croatia international’s permanent exit from the London Stadium is far from a done deal though…

Nikola Vlasic permanent exit from West Ham far from guaranteed

The 25-year-old has been lighting it up with Torino, and has bagged four goals and three assists in 15 games for the Italian side so far (Transfermarkt).

It seems like David Moyes might have made a huge error letting Vlasic leave in the summer.

The Scot certainly didn’t use him correctly, that’s for sure.

But where will the Croatian be playing his trade next season?

When quizzed on whether Vlasic’s permanent move to Torino is a foregone conclusion, the club’s chairman Urbano Cairo responded by saying:

There are no assumptions about the transfer market, we are on matchday 14 and it’s early. He’s doing very well and I like him, but the championship is long.

So judging by those comments, Vlasic joining Torino permanently is far from done and dusted.

Should he go on to endure a difficult final two thirds of the season, the Torino chairman may well be reluctant to pay West Ham the money.

Nikola Vlasic really struggled during his time with West Ham. I personally think that he isn’t suited to the Premier League, but the way that Moyes misused him really was criminal.

So even if the 25-year-old doesn’t join Torino, I just can’t see him ever returning to West Ham.
