West Ham United definitely will not be signing Zenit Saint Petersburg striker Yuri Alberto this summer.

That’s because the 21-year-old will be joining Brazilian club Corinthians on loan, as confirmed by Zenit’s official website.

Missing out on the 21-year-old will be a big shame. He’s a very exciting young footballer and could have been the perfect understudy for Michail Antonio at the London Stadium.

David Moyes desperately needs to bring in some top-class cover and competition for the 32-year-old forward before the start of the new season.

Our hopes of enjoying a successful campaign both home and abroad in the 2022/23 season will depend heavily on Moyes’s ability to bring in a talented striker.

There is one name that we can now definitely tick off the list though…

West Ham won’t be signing Yuri Alberto

Moyes wanted to bring the talented 21-year-old forward to the London Stadium this summer according to a report from UOL Esporte.

That won’t be happening now though, with Alberto set to join Corinthians (Zenit’s official website).

And that’s a real shame.

He has been described as a pacy striker who is a clinical finisher with either foot by ESDF Analysis.

Alberto is a very hard worker as well and is always willing to make tireless runs into the channels. It’s little wonder why Moyes was interested in bringing him to the London Stadium!

During his career to date, he has bagged 37 goals and 10 assists in 116 games (Transfermarkt) – not bad going for a 21-year-old!

The Brazilian will obviously continue to get better and better.

Unfortunately, the West Ham fans won’t be seeing Yuri Alberto in the Claret and Blue this season. Who knows though, perhaps we will make a move to sign him at some point in the future.
