West Ham centre-back Issa Diop is a transfer target for Leicester this summer according to a report from The Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old has started the Hammers’ last two pre-season games after Angelo Ogbonna picked up a slight knock against Celtic two weeks ago.

Diop has been far from anywhere near his best for West Ham over the past two seasons.

With Ogbonna and Craig Dawson on the wrong side of 30, however, David Moyes will surely want to keep the towering defender around unless Leicester make a big offer.

That could all change very quickly though, if the Hammers manage to sign Nikola Milenkovic and/or Duje Caleta-Car.

West Ham ace Diop could be Leicester bound

The Foxes are allegedly keen to bring the 24-year-old to the King Power Stadium this summer.

Diop moved to the London Stadium from Toulouse for around £25 million in the summer of 2018 (The Express).

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t really kick on after an impressive debut campaign with the Hammers.

Diop does have real talent, however. And if the 24-year-old is coached properly, he will surely come good at some point.

He just needs to eradicate the stupid errors from his game.

West Ham surely won’t sell Diop this summer. Perhaps we need to give him one more season to prove himself, and then reassess our options next year.

As mentioned earlier, however, if Leicester make a big bid for Diop, the Hammers owners may well decide that now is the perfect time to sell the centre-back.
