Arsenal are eyeing up a bargain deal for West Ham United transfer target Memphis Depay in January after the injury sustained by Gabriel Jesus.
That’s according to a report from Spanish publication Sport (print edition December 10th, page 20) who claim that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is concerned about his lack of centre-forward options at the Emirates.
That comes after Gabriel Jesus suffered a knee injury whilst out in Qatar on World Cup duty with Brazil. And Arteta is unsure how long the 25-year-old will be out of action for.
As a result, the Gunners could explore a bargain deal for Memphis Depay according to Sport – someone that West Ham manager David Moyes allegedly wants to bring to the London Stadium (Fabrizio Romano).

And with his Barcelona contract set to expire in the summer of 2023, the La Liga giants could sell him for just €5 million (£4 million) in January (AS).
Its seems as though Arsenal may well jump at the chance to sign him for that fee, with Gabriel Jesus out for the foreseeable future…
Arsenal eyeing bargain Memphis Depay deal
Sport reckon that the the Dutchman’s profile ‘fits best’ to what Arteta wants in a centre-forward.
It will be such a shame if the Hammers miss out to Arsenal on the former Manchester United man, he really is an exceptional talent.
Depay bagged 13 goals and two assists in 38 games for Barca last season (Transfermarkt).
The Dutch ace is an enigmatic, precocious talent and on his day he is unplayable. Depay is incredibly strong as well and would be ideally suited to leading the line on his own for the Hammers.

The Barcelona attacker has been described as a player with ‘unreal skill’ by The Metro.
Sure, he has displayed some attitude problems in the past but a fresh start at a new club might just be exactly what he needs to help him rediscover his best form.
West Ham signing Memphis Depay for around £4 million would represent brilliant business for the club, but Arsenal are seemingly ready to ruin our January transfer window plans.
If Arsenal secure a bargain deal for Memphis Depay in January, it will be very much their gain and our loss.
