West Ham deadline day transfer news: Southampton have £3 million bid accepted for 26-year-old but David Moyes must hijack the move.
Football Scotland reckon that Southampton have made the really low offer for 26-year-old Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, with just under 17 hours remaining of the January transfer window.
The thing is, with just five months remaining on his contract with Lyon, they are willing to sell him for just £3 million on deadline day today, rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes should be desperate to add another centre-forward to his ranks before tonight’s 11pm deadline, with Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings currently both out injured.
Amazingly, the West Ham boss is contemplating bringing Andre Ayew back to the London Stadium on a free transfer. If it’s a bargain deal that the Scot wants though, he need look no further than Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.
The 26-year-old is available for just £3 million and West Ham absolutely should launch a late hijack of Southampton’s move to sign him…
West Ham deadline day transfer news
With Southampton allegedly having a bid accepted for the Frenchman, what on earth are we waiting for? He’d be a perfect and very cheap option for us at the moment.
The 26-year-old striker became a real hate figure in the eyes of the Hammers fans last season. During our Europa League quarter-final clash with Lyon, Dembele was caught winking to his teammates after getting Aaron Cresswell sent off at the London Stadium.
However, plenty of water has flown under the bridge since then. And what better way for the striker to change the minds of the West Ham fans by moving to the club on deadline day and scoring a hat full of goals between now and the end of the season?

Dembele certainly knows where the back of the net is, and that’s exactly what we need at the moment.
The forward has bagged 69 goals in 159 games for Lyon and he has 151 goals in 340 career games to his name – a really impressive tally (Transfermarkt).
For just £3 million, the Hammers shouldn’t even be thinking twice about hijacking Southampton’s reported move to sign the former Celtic and Fulham man.
We’re hoping for some positive West Ham deadline day transfer news over the course of the next 16-17 hours. And Moyes bringing Dembele to the London Stadium would certainly represent exactly that.
